A 3-part documentary series: Every story starts with a sound. In this opening episode, Jeremy “J.D.” Scott traces his love of music back to childhood — to a silver steel drum set, a determined mother, and the spark that would shape his life.
Through personal memories and family stories, we see how rhythm became his language and legacy. It’s the beginning of Orbital Junky: where one gift, one song, and one small act of belief set everything in motion.
Orbital Junky is the brainchild of Jeremy “J.D.” Scott—songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and polymath. Co-produced with Matt Noveskey of Blue October, this cinematic soul collective blends the storytelling heart of classic songwriting with the bold textures of retro-futurist pop, R&B, and rock.
Born from demoing experiments and a lifelong obsession with sound, Orbital Junky creates immersive, high-fidelity music driven by live horns, strings, analog keys, and groove-heavy rhythm sections. Each song is a scene. Each album, a full-length feature.
Their debut concept album, Big City Dreams, follows a young artist’s journey through heartbreak, ambition, and the search for identity in the chaos of modern life. Featuring collaborations with Grammy-winning musicians, filmic arrangements, and unforgettable hooks, Orbital Junky is more than a band—it’s a movement built for headphones and the silver screen alike.
